EAST NORRITON, PENNSYLVANIA (April 7, 2011) — Brandywine Senior Living, a premier operator of assisted living communities in the Mid-Atlantic region, announced that Antoinette “Toni” Flowers, Wellness Director of Brandywine Assisted Living at Senior Suites, located in East Norriton, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, received the distinguished National Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) 2011 Hero Award today at the annual ALFA Conference in Orlando, Florida.

ALFA, a national organization for the senior living industry, started the Hero Awards over ten years ago and continues with the annual program through nomination requests from senior living providers around the country. ALFA describes a “Hero” as an individual who exhibits extraordinary leadership, dedication, courage, and a genuine love for making a difference in the lives of senior citizens. Approximately 700 nominations were received nationwide and individually reviewed by the ALFA Executive Committee. The ALFA Executive Committee narrowed down the nominations to the top five who were appointed the prestigious honor of ALFA Hero 2011.
Ms. Flowers attended the formal Hero luncheon where she received her award in front of thousands of industry professionals and members of the Brandywine family on Tuesday, April 6, 2011. “Toni is a leader at the community who has a followship from everyone that has the pleasure of spending time with her,” said Randy Hampton, Executive Director of Senior Suites. “She puts into practice with perfect skill and technique the philosophy of assisted living. Residents recognize this and simply trust and love her.”

ALFA also acknowledged additional exemplary nominees as Champions of Senior Living. Brandywine Senior Living had 19 team members who were honored as ALFA Champions of Senior Living 2011.
