Brandywine Senior Living Establishes the Peter J. Burke, Jr. Memorial Scholarship for Graduates of LEAP
A founding member of Brandywine Senior Living’s legacy of caring for young people will live on through a scholarship established in his memory by Brandywine.
The Peter J. Burke, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will benefit graduates of the LEAP Academy Charter School in Camden, NJ as they pursue their college education. Peter J. Burke Jr., was involved with LEAP for many years and worked hard to support their important mission to help cultivate students from the underserved community of Camden.
The scholarship has been capitalized with an initial contribution from Brandywine Senior Living in the amount of $25,000, together with a matching contribution from LEAP in the same amount, for a total initial scholarship fund of $50,000. Family, friends and colleagues have also made meaningful contributions.
“With all of his professional accomplishments, Peter never lost focus on working with with LEAP to advance its mission of providing families with access to a quality education,” said Brenda J. Bacon, President, CEO and Co-Founder of Brandywine Senior Living. “As a close friend and individual who contributed so much to us both personally and professionally, we are honored to continue Peter’s legacy of helping others through this scholarship.”
