Amber Mansfield Awarded HCANJF Grant

Amber Mansfield Awarded HCANJF Grant

(LINWOOD, NJ) Brandywine Living is proud to announce that Amber Mansfield, Escapades Producer at Brandywine Living at Brandall Estates, has been named a recipient of the HCANJF Educational Grant.

The Health Care Association of New Jersey Foundation Grant Program is a discretionary grant program that provides funding for study by member facility staff, to help them to obtain licensure, accreditation, advanced degrees, etc., in fields directly related to long-term care.

The grant has enabled Amber to enroll in the MEPAP II course at DH Special Services. Completing this course in May 2018, will result in her eligibility for the National Activity Director Certification.

Amber said:

“Taking the MEPAP I course taught me even more about the therapeutic aspect of recreational therapy.  As much as I have learned over the years, I am aware that there is much more learning and education that I need to acquire.  I would like to continue my education not only to better myself, but to fulfill my goals as a Certified Activity Director.”

Sherry Sullivan, Executive Director of Brandywine Living at Brandall Estates, nominated Amber for this grant in recognition of her outstanding performance at the community.

“Amber truly believes in quality of life for all the seniors she serves, and lives and breathes and models this to them and all of the staff in the community,” Sherry wrote in her nomination.  “She is a leader and innovative in bringing new and fresh programming to her residents.  Her creativity runs deep, as does her commitment to all of her residents.”

Residents at the community describe Amber as a caring problem solver who always wears a smile. Not to mention, she gives the best hugs!  “Amber is extremely kind and is never down. She always has a big smile for everyone,” commented a Brandywine Living resident.

Brandywine Living congratulates Amber Mansfield on this achievement and looks forward to her continued growth and leadership.
