Mary and Huellings Van Sciver of Brandywine Living in Voorhees celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on April 24th. The couple “tied the knot” in 1948 at the First Baptist Church in Merchantville, NJ. Mrs. Van Sciver is the former Mary Virginia LaRene and was a homemaker and caregiver to her parents. She is a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and for many years was active in the First Baptist Church of Merchantville. The couple spent most of their time living in Merchantville and Cinnaminson before retiring to Voorhees.
The Van Sciver’s have 5 children, Mary Lynne Christopoulos, Holly Anne Van Sciver, Bonnie Lee Van Sciver-Steele, Deborah Robin Farina, and Hugh Kenneth Van Sciver.
There are 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Mr. Van Sciver served in the merchant marines during World War II and is currently retired after many years of service with Holman Automotive.
