Brandywine Living Celebrates Annual “ Longest Day” Fundraiser

Team Members of Dresher Estates Wear Purple for Alzheimer's Support

Dresher, PA — Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates celebrated eight weeks of fundraising for the Alzheimer Association on June 21, 2022 in honor of The Longest Day.

The Longest Day, observed on the summer solstice, is the Alzheimer’s Association largest fundraising day of the year. Participants from around the world spread awareness and raise funds for a cure.

This year marks the eleventh year the senior living community donned purple shirts for a grand finale party on The Longest Day. They celebrated their fundraising efforts with a BBQ, ice cream truck and raised additional funds with raffles.

Team members, residents and families collectively raised $3,000 and counting for the Alzheimer’s Association. Fundraisers highlights over the past two months included Casual for A Cause Fridays, Bake Sales, and Raffle baskets. Local sponsors also contributed to the team’s efforts by sponsoring The Longest Day and donating raffle items.

Rachel Kaufman, Escapades Producer who organized the events commented, “I have been honored and privileged to be the team captain at Dresher Estates for the past eleven years to work with our team to raise funds and awareness for this very important cause!”

Community special guests included Maggie Shope, Constituent Event Manager and Mike Russomano, Board of Directors from The Alzheimer’s Association.

“The Alzheimer’s Association Longest Day event at Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates was inspiring in so many ways.  I was fortunate to attend and see how engaged, committed and attentive Brandywine staff is to its residents and to our cause.  A beautiful, first-class event on a beautiful day. Thank you for allowing me to join you,” commented from Mike Russomano.
