Brenda J. Bacon inducted into ASHA Senior Living Hall of Fame

Brenda Bacon

Mount Laurel, NJ — On January 25, 2022, Brenda J. Bacon was inducted into the American Seniors Housing Association’s Senior Living Hall of Fame at the organization’s annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Bacon was honored alongside fellow senior living pioneers John C. Erickson and Steven L. Vick.

Brenda Bacon co-founded Brandywine Living 25 years ago with a vision of creating a geographically concentrated network of senior living services dedicated to helping family members care of their aging, beloved parents. Brandywine provides its residents with physical support, engaging programming, and creates a reason to get out of bed in the morning and enjoy the laughter and fellowship of others.

Today, Brandywine has 32 locations in seven states with more than 2,400 team members and the capacity to serve over 3,200 residents. The commitment to quality senior living remains unwavering and Bacon continues to be as close as ever to the business’ daily operations as president and chief executive officer.

“I am incredibly honored to be inducted into the Senior Living Hall of Fame and to be with a class of two very special and impactful leaders as John Erickson and Steven Vick,” said Bacon. “It’s been, no doubt, a very challenging two years for all of us, but with challenges come opportunities.”

Bacon said that she is thankful to work in an industry that truly can change people’s lives. She believes that the industry is focused more now than ever before on the frontline team members and their well-being. Bacon said that she is inspired by the working moms who have had to manage through the challenges of school closings and virtual classrooms during the pandemic.

“Brenda is a leader’s leader,” said Ken Segarnick, Brandywine’s Chief Corporate Officer. “She’s hardwired to do both well and good and has inspired professionals of all walks of life.”

Bacon, Vick, and Erickson are a part of the fifth class of ASHA Hall of Famers and join a total of 17 previous honorees inducted in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
