On Tuesday, October 30th, 2018 Brandywine Living at Huntington Terrace had the honor of meeting a celebrity artist who generously donates his masterpieces to benefit charity. The artist led residents in an engaging art session that included plenty of therapeutic belly rubs. Don’t be concerned — the artist is a therapy dog!
Dagger, aka DogVinci, has been “painting” since 2015. His owner, Yvonne, noticed how excited Dagger would get while watching her paint. She decided to set him up with a paintbrush of his own and the rest is history. Since then, Dagger has donated over $65,000 to charity through his masterpieces.
Brandywine Living at Huntington Terrace, a premier provider of luxury senior services, was very excited to welcome this unusual and furry artist to their community. For DogVinci, this was his first time making an appearance at a senior living community.
“It was amazing to see such a talented dog here in our community. Our residents had a great experience in learning about the different styles of art from Yvonne and were able to watch Dagger create his own painting. A WOW experience all around,” exclaimed Patti Finkelberg, Executive Director of Brandywine Living at Huntington Terrace.
After learning about Dagger’s history, residents had the opportunity to paint their own masterpiece alongside him.
Vincent Martucci, a resident of Brandywine Living at Huntington Terrace’s independent living community, coordinated this special event with DogVinci.
He commented, “It was fascinating for me and all those present to see the joy on the faces of the residents, that a dog was so talented at painting.”
