Pennington, NJ — Brandywine Living at Pennington was a thrifty shopper’s paradise on Saturday, September 14, 2019 as the senior living community transformed into a Community Yard Sale to benefit local volunteer fire fighters and first responders.
“We were inspired to host this event because we wanted to thank our first responders who are consistently there for us. It turned out to be a huge event thanks to the items donated by the greater community, families, residents and team members,” commented Lauren Strano, Brandywine Living Escapades Producer.
The yard sale featured everything from holiday décor to house wares and artwork. Refreshments were provided to shoppers who started arriving at 8:00am to find the best bargain first.
Over $1,600 was raised during the event to benefit the Pennington Township’s First Aide Squad and Fire Department.
The Community Yard Sale was hosted during National Assisted Living Week 2019, “A Spark of Creativity”. National Assisted Living Week’s mission is to provide a unique opportunity for communities to recognize the important role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors.
