Community Block Party Raises Money for Local Children with Cancer

Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates Team Member Holding Donation Check for Kisses for Kyle

Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates hosted a Community Block Party on September 15, 2018. The fundraiser was held in honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and National Assisted Living Week 2018. Proceeds from baskets and items raffled during the event raised $1,735.00 for the Kisses for Kyle Foundation.

The Kisses for Kyle Foundation offers a variety of services to families fighting childhood cancer in the Delaware Valley. Proceeds will aide these families with related expenses such as travel expenses, car payments, rent, food and wigs.

“Kisses for Kyle is so very fortunate to have the strong dedication of support for over a decade through Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates. This year alone, our local nonprofit organization is helping over 800 family members and the reason why we are able to help so many families who are faced with the battle of childhood cancer, through our various programs and services, is due to the strong rooted support and dedication in partnerships such as this amazing one! We are very grateful to have Dresher Estates help raise much needed awareness and funding each September through fun community events to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with us,” commented Sharon Snyder, founder of Kisses For Kyle.

Featured activities at the Community Block Party included a BBQ lunch, entertainment, face painting, and balloon art. This is the second year Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates has hosted a Kisses for Kyle fundraiser during National Assisted Living Week and plans to continue the tradition. Last year, their Family Auction Night raised over four thousand dollars.

“Sharon Snyder inspires me everyday! She took the very personal tragedy of losing her son Kyle to cancer and founded something incredible! Her network to help the families in our community whose children have been diagnosed with cancer is truly amazing & heartfelt. I feel privileged to have Dresher Estates be a part of her heroic efforts,” said Rachel Kaufman, Escapades Producer of Brandywine Living at Dresher Estates, who organized the fundraiser.

Brandywine Living a Dresher Estates would like to thank their event sponsors who contributed to the Community Block Party. Sponsors included Rydal Park, Dominic’s Landscaping, Madelyn and Leonard Abramson Center for Jewish Life, Visiting Angels, BAYADA, Willow Grove Rita’s, DJ Jerry Boland and Chef’s Spot Pizza.
