PRINCETON, NJ, January 4, 2017 – A group of residents from Brandywine Living at Princeton have been very busy this holiday season crocheting, knitting and knotting blankets, hats and pillows for Saint Peter’s Pediatric Unit in New Brunswick.
When the residents visited the Pediatric Unit on December 22nd, they were greeted by nursing staff, who were very thankful for the beautiful blankets, hats & pillows. One of Brandywine’s residents shared, “when we heard this project was for the children we immediately got to work!”
Lauren Kane, Certified Life Specialist at The Children’s Hospital, wrote a heartfelt thank-you letter to Brandywine.
“On behalf of the staff, children and families of The Children’s Hospital at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your visit and kind donation of handmade gifts for our pediatric patients. With the help of your donation, you have provided these families with a smile. Children here now, and in the future, will benefit from your kindness.”
Brandywine hopes that the handmade, cozy gifts made the children’s Christmas & Hanukkah a little brighter. Plans are in place to begin an annual tradition of giving back to the community as part of their Escapades…for Life! program at Princeton.
