(PENNINGTON, NJ) Brandywine Living at Pennington is proud to be announced as the recipient of the National Assisted Living Week Program of the Year Award for 2016 by The National Center for Assisted Living.
The award recognizes an exemplary assisted living program that embodies the designated yearly theme during National Assisted Living Week. For the 2016 theme, “Keep Connected”, Brandywine Living at Pennington incorporated programs that connected residents, staff and families to each other and non-profit causes.
“It takes a special person to work in assisted living, but Erin, Esther, Lauri and the entire team at Brandywine Living at Pennington take it to a whole other level,” said NCAL Executive Director Scott Tittle. “NCAL is privileged to recognize these individuals who consider it their life’s work to serve seniors and individuals with disabilities.”
Residents had the opportunity last year to explore video technologies that connected them to long distance families – in addition to starring in a video of their own! The community joined together to produce a music video to Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” revealed during the weekly celebration.
Non-profit programs that connected the community included raising funds and awareness for the mission of Christine’s Hope for Kids and the Breast Cancer Resource Center.
“It was a huge honor and big surprise to be recognized by NCAL by winning the 2016 AL Week Programming Award. It is wonderful that my staff was acknowledged for all the hard work and planning that made the week such a success. We involved not only the residents, staff, and families, but the greater Pennington Community. The team spirit was contagious and rubbed off on the residents too! We are all very lucky to come to work each day and know we truly make a difference in the lives of so many,” said Ellen Moyle, Executive Director at Brandywine Living of Pennington.
This is the second year in a row that Brandywine Living has been a recipient of the National Assisted Living Week Program of the Year Award. The 2015 winner was Brandywine Living at Princeton for their unique events centered on the “Nourishing Life” theme.
“Our communities are supported by strong team members and leaders who genuinely care about their residents and local communities. We like to remind people that National Assisted Living Week is only a sampling of what Brandywine does every day; we make it a priority to celebrate a thriving lifestyle daily,” said Krissi Kressler, Corporate Director of Program Excellence for Brandywine Living.
