Moorestown, NJ — The Moorestown community was invited to celebrate National Assisted Living on Friday, September 13, 2019 with Brandywine Living at Moorestown Estates during their Neighborhood Block Party.
“We wanted our neighbors in Moorestown to have an opportunity to join in on the fun we’ve had all week long. Inviting the public to the Neighborhood Block Party on the last day of National Assisted Living Week was the perfect way to honor this year’s theme, ‘A Spark of Creativity’ together,” commented Rebecca Lentine, Brandywine Living Escapades Producer.
National Assisted Living Week’s mission is to provide a unique opportunity for communities to recognize the important role of assisted living in caring for America’s seniors.
Rebecca explained, “Although the week is very busy for team members, it is rewarding to see how we remind our residents that they are still evolving, capable of making incredible connections, experiencing new things, and creating countless memories at any age. We hope by inviting the public during this weeklong celebration, that they too are reminded of this and understand the role Brandywine Living fulfills to help seniors gain independence in their new life phase.”
The block party had a very nostalgic feel with food booths, vendors, fire pit and live music. To “spark creativity” guests were invited to put finishing touches on a graffiti wall started by residents and team members earlier in the week. They also had the opportunity to create a useful tote bag from old t-shirts.
Caring Hearts Ministries added a charitable element to the event with a 50/50 raffle. The proceeds will help a local family by being allocated to pay for an electric or heating bill this winter. Additionally, Be the Match was onsite to answer questions and assist anyone interested in signing up to be a bone marrow donor.
