Last Friday, Brandywine Living at Princeton residents enjoyed an outdoor trip on the New Hope train ride.
Residents are always having an enjoyable time with planned activities, whether it’s within the community or outside at other events.
This time, they got a chance to go out on a train ride in New Hope to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus.
New Hope Free Press was there to see the delight from the residents.
Seniors ranging in age from 92 to 97 from Brandywine Living in Princeton, N.J., braved the frigid temperatures and took a trip Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Claus on New Hope & Ivyland Railroad’s Polar Express Train Ride.
Residents were treated to hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes, along with live entertainment and caroling. But for many, sharing the reactions of the local pre-schoolers also along for the ride was the greatest delight.
“I didn’t know what to expect — but I’m so happy that I’m here.”
“The importance of this outing for our seniors was to be part of a new memory that ties in with memories of the past,” explained Escapades Producer Stephanie Gaber at Brandywine Living.
