Senior Living Community Goes to the Dogs in Second Annual Parade

Mahwah, NJ — Wet noses and wagging tails filled Brandywine Living at Mahwah’s parking lot on September 18, 2021 for their second annual Canine King and Queen Parade.

The furry event supported their neighbors at Real Dog Rescue who are grounded in the belief that every dog matters. Located in Mahwah, NJ they are longtime animal advocates dedicated to helping dogs in need regardless of breed, age or medical need.

Local dogs, rescue alumni, recently adopted pups and dogs available for adoption strutted their stuff in front of a panel of resident judges. To support the rescue, two-legged family members and attendees took their chances on a raffle basket to benefit the rescue.

“We love our neighbors at Brandywine Living and we were so excited to see all of our friends again for our second Canine King and Queen Parade! Not surprisingly, the poms won over the crowd and Paulie Walnuts and Pommie were crowned King and Queen of the parade. We were joined by several RDR alumni and a great time was had by all,’ commented Real Dog Rescue.

The event is held annually on the last day of National Assisted Living Week to foster community relations. During the week residents of the senior living community enjoyed other fun activities and events in observance of the national week.
